Quick Fixes For Curb Appeal

How does your house look from the curb? After a long winter, chances are good it could use a refresher.

While you might be tempted to take on an HGTV-style renovation to get that coveted curb appeal, there are many smaller-scale projects any homeowner can do and still achieve great results.

“I like to start with the front porch,” says Stacy Marsilio, CKD, Choice Home Remodeling. “After a good cleaning, give it some personal charm with outdoor chairs, bright cushions, a colorful rug and a fun wreath on your door. Add a couple plants or hanging flowers and you’re done!”

Check out these curb appeal tips – ranging from no cost to moderate expense – that you can do on your next free weekend.

No expenseWindow-cleaning

  • clean your windows and glass door, inside and out
  • clean your outdoor light fixtures
  • remove cobwebs around the exterior
  • reduce the number of accessories in your yard and gardens. Less is more.

Low expensePainting-front-door

  • try a new color on shutters and/or door
  • plant flowers around your front entry
  • hang flowers and plants on your porch
  • paint flower pots, arrange on front steps
  • window boxes – buy them pre-assembled or build your own
  • add decorative pavers to a walkway

Moderate expenseInstalling-new-shutters

Choice is our #1 go to for doors and windows. They helped us through a major kitchen remodel as well as adding new front entry/screen doors.Their attention to detail and responsiveness are above and beyond any other company we've ever worked with.Thank you, Choice and Team.
Choice Home Remodeling installed a new Larson storm door and my wife and I are pleased with the results! Rob, our installer, did a professional and thorough job to replace our old door which had seen better days. The contrast in entering and leaving our home is noticeable and the door was exactly what we ordered! Rob also replaced the locks on our regular front door. We will certainly contact CHR for any future needs if warranted.
Choice worked with us and the financing we had available. Our installer was very polite and professional. The job was done quickly and the right way! The new window looks great!
We just had 4 windows replaced and Jay the installer did an A+ job. I’ve had numerous jobs done by Choice and they’ve always been top notch with kind and courteous people from start to finish.
